Japan appears on almost every “best digital nomad visas” list published this year. A Philippine passport holder cannot get it. Not because of income, not because of paperwork, but because Japan’s programme is only open to nationals who do not need a Japanese tourist visa in the first place. We do. That one line, buried in a Ministry of Foreign Affairs notice, quietly disqualifies every Filipino who reads that list and starts saving. That is the problem with almost everything written on this topic. The lists are real. The countries are real. They were written for somebody else’s passport. So here is the version for ours.
