Hyatt wants to take you on a luxurious camping adventure — almost like a safari.

As of Thursday, the glamping company Under Canvas is officially part of World of Hyatt thanks to Hyatt's partnership with Mr & Mrs Smith. Under Canvas has camping locations across the country, from Acadia National Park to Moab, Utah.

Now, World of Hyatt members can earn and redeem points for nature-filled stays at 13 outdoors-focused locations across the U.S., with stays open for the seasonal camps through 2025.

World of Hyatt members will earn the following, according to a statement from the program:

  • 5 base points per $1 spent on room rates
  • Tier-qualifying nights for each eligible night at Under Canvas Resorts and Ulum Moab
  • The same benefits as at Mr & Mrs Smith hotels

Meanwhile, folks who carry the World of Hyatt Credit Card will earn an additional 4 bonus points per $1 spent on room rates when booking through World of Hyatt channels.

TPG compared redemption rates for a variety of dates, and most appear to fall well below our July 2024 valuation of 1.7 cents per Hyatt point. So, while this might not be the most valuable use of your points, it could be a big win for Hyatt loyalists looking to get up close and personal with some of the United States' most beautiful parks and natural wonders.

A quick search for Under Canvas Great Smoky Mountains is showing a mid-August stay pricing out at 16,250 points per night for an entry-level Safari tent. A stay in mid-June 2025 is priced at 17,750 points per night.

If you need a little inspiration as to which Under Canvas property to book, you might consider the ultraluxe Ulum Moab, which also happened to earn a spot on TPG's list of best new hotels of 2023.

Or, if you've been keen to visit Dolly Parton's "Tennessee Mountain Home," Under Canvas Great Smoky Mountains is a must-visit glamping site near one of the country's most magical national parks — and Parton's incredible theme park, Dollywood.

Just note that since Under Canvas is joining World of Hyatt through Mr & Mrs Smith, award stays at these campsites will be based on a dynamic pricing model and not Hyatt's standard award chart.
