Marriott and Uber have a partnership that lets U.S. Marriott Bonvoy members earn points on U.S. Uber transactions, including rides and Uber Eats orders.

For a limited time, you'll earn 1,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points when you download the Uber app, link your Marriott and Uber accounts and complete a ride by midnight Aug. 31. Based on TPG's August 2024 valuations, 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points are worth $8.50.

Alongside the bonus points, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn points in the following ways once they link their Uber account:

  • 6 points per dollar spent on Uber Eats deliveries to hotels operating under Marriott brands in the U.S. (a minimum order total of $40 applies)
  • 3 points per dollar spent on premium Uber (Uber XL, SUV, Comfort and Black) rides in the U.S.
  • 2 points per dollar spent on nonhotel Uber Eats deliveries and food pickups in the U.S. (a minimum order total of $40 applies)

Your Uber Eats account will also be automatically linked at the same time, and you'll receive the bonus points within four to six weeks of completing the qualifying activity.

You must link your accounts and complete a qualifying ride by 11:59 p.m. EDT on Aug. 31. The bonus points will not apply to Marriott Bonvoy members who have already linked their accounts.

Bottom line

If you have not yet linked your Marriott and Uber accounts and are someone who regularly uses the ride-hailing or food-delivery app, now is the time to link your accounts. You could be earning Marriott Bonvoy points every time you take a ride or place a food order. Plus, you can bag yourself an easy 1,000 bonus points for doing what you'd likely do anyway.

Remember to use one of the best credit cards for Uber or one of the best credit cards for food delivery orders so you can maximize your earnings (or savings).

If you want to earn more Marriott points, you might consider opening a Marriott credit card. For example, you can earn three Free Night Awards (each night valued up to 50,000 points) after spending $3,000 in the first three months of account opening with the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card. Certain hotels have resort fees.
