Meanwhile, American Express US Marriott Bonvoy Business Card is offering three Free Night Awards worth 50,000 points each – a drop from its most recent limited-time offer of five Free Night Awards.

The Amex US Bonvoy Bevy Card, which is a bit of a step down from the Bonvoy Brilliant Card in terms of ongoing perks and benefits, is offering a high welcome bonus of 155,000 points.

You’ll receive the welcome bonus upon spending $5,000 (USD) in the first six months.

This offer is record-high for the card, with other previous highs reaching as many as 125,000 points. The more usual offer for this card is around 85,000 points.

With our valuation of Bonvoy points at 0.6 cents per point (USD), we’d value the current welcome bonus at $930 (USD).

In terms of earning rates, the Amex US Bonvoy Bevy Card offers the following:

• 6 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent at Marriott hotels
• 4 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent at restaurants worldwide and US supermarkets
• 2 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent on everything else

The Amex US Bonvoy Bevy has a lower annual fee than the Brilliant card coming in at $250 (USD); though it also comes with fewer meaningful perks than the Brilliant card as a result.

However, if you’re able to spend $15,000 on the card in a calendar year, you’ll earn a Free Night Award worth up to 50,000 points. That works out to be an average spend of $1,250 per month, which isn’t an unreasonable amount; however, your day-to-day spending may be better targeted elsewhere.

Recently, Amex US put in “family language” restrictions on the Amex US Marriott Bonvoy Bevy Card, and this means that you may not be eligible for a welcome bonus on the Amex US Bonvoy Bevy Card if you’ve ever held the Amex US Bonvoy Brilliant Card.

Therefore, if you have your eyes set on the Amex US Bonvoy Brilliant Card as a long-term keeper card, your best bet may be to apply for the Bonvoy Bevy Card first, and then work your way up to the Bonvoy Brilliant Card further down the line.

The Bevy’s ongoing offer expires on October 2, 2024 as well.

Amex US Bonvoy Business Card: Three Free Night Awards

The Amex US Bonvoy Business Card, which is the sole Marriott co-branded credit card geared towards small business owners in the US, is currently offering three Free Night Awards worth 50,000 points apiece.

To unlock the welcome bonus, you’ll need to make $6,000 (USD) in eligible purchases within the first six months as a cardholder, which averages out to $1,333 per month.

The welcome bonus on this card has gone as high as five Free Night Awards, so it’s best for you to hold off on applying if you don’t have an immediate use for the card.

In terms of regular earning rates, the Amex US Bonvoy Business Card offers the following:

• 6 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent at Marriott hotels
• 4 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent at US restaurants, gas stations, wireless telephone purchases, and shipping
• 2 Bonvoy points per US dollar spent on everything else

Compared to the Amex US Bonvoy Brilliant, which comes with numerous perks for its $650 annual fee, the Amex US Bonvoy Business has a much lower annual fee of $125, and its accompanying perks and benefits are also weaker.

However, you’ll get an anniversary Free Night Award worth up to 35,000 Bonvoy points, which is on par with the anniversary certificate offered by the Canadian-issued Amex Bonvoy Card and Amex Bonvoy Business Card.

After earning this lucrative welcome bonus, you can keep the card around as a long-term keeper card due to its relatively low annual fee and the annual Free Night Award.

With this card, you’ll also earn 15 elite qualifying nights per year, which can be stacked with another 15 nights from the Amex US Bonvoy Bevy Card or 25 from the Amex US Bonvoy Brilliant Card.
