American Airlines AAdvantage is out with a new promotion that could help you kick off the new status year by boosting your Loyalty Points balance. There's a separate promotion to earn a Flagship Lounge pass, too. While these promotions aren't game changers by any stretch of the imagination, both of them are worth registering for — especially if you haven't booked any upcoming trips.
Earn up to 5,000 Loyalty Points by booking March travel
The first offer is to earn up to 5,000 additional Loyalty Points on March travel on American Airlines. Unfortunately, it's just 500 Loyalty Points "per segment," and it's "up to 5,000" Loyalty Points. That means you'd need to fly 10 flights in March alone to max out the savings. Still, it can add up if you haven't yet booked upcoming March travel. Note that fares booked in basic economy won't count. You need to register, and the offer is only good until the end of March. Just click on the "Promotions" page of your American Airlines account.
The offer doesn't apply to previously booked flights. This makes us wonder why the airline didn't roll this out a bit earlier, before most of us booked March trips.
How to earn
- Register and then book your flight by March 31.
- Book eligible flights with American Airlines.
- Complete your flights by March 31.

Earn a Flagship Lounge pass
The other promotion is an offer to receive a one-time Flagship Lounge pass by booking and flying a first-class, premium economy or business-class flight in March.
New American Airlines AAdvantage lounge pass promotion. AMERICAN AIRLINES
How to earn
- Register and then book your flight by March 31.
- Book eligible flights in first class, business class or premium economy with American Airlines.
- Complete your flights by March 31.
Again, you need to register, and the offer is not valid on previously booked flights. It's a fun one since Flagship lounges are among American Airlines' best. American is due to open a brand-new Flagship Lounge in Philadelphia later this year.
Bottom line
While these promotions are not earth-shattering by any means, they are worth enrolling in, especially if you have yet to book your March travel.
