Fresh off of a seven new routes announced last month, Allegiant Air on Tuesday announced its latest expansion, including its newest destination: Huntsville, Alabama.

It's part of a five-route expansion unveiled Tuesday by the budget carrier, headlined by three routes out of Huntsville International Airport (HSV), located in northern Alabama just south of the Tennessee border — all to popular vacation destinations in Florida.

All of the new flights will launch between November 2025 and March 2026, and will touch the Sunshine State in some capacity.

Other U.S. cities gaining new Allegiant service to Florida include Appleton, Wisconsin, and Rochester, New York.

Allegiant's 5 new routes

Here's the full rundown of the new service unveiled by the Las Vegas-based carrier Tuesday:

  • HSV to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) — launches Nov. 19
  • HSV to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) — launches March 5, 2026
  • HSV to Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) — launches Feb. 12, 2026
  • Appleton International Airport (ATW) to SFB — launches Jan. 16, 2026

Doubling down on leisure strategy — and Alabama

For Allegiant, this expansion is clearly part of the airline's tried-and-true strategy of connecting U.S. cities with less commercial air service to popular vacation spots — and oftentimes via less-busy airports near those metropolitan areas, like SFB and PIE.

"As a leisure focused airline our unique business model allows us to quickly respond to consumer demand and connect underserved markets to top vacation destinations," Allegiant chief commercial officer Drew Wells said in a statement announcing the news.

The three new routes out of Huntsville continued what's been fast growth for Allegiant in the state of Alabama.

After previously not serving the state at all, the carrier has been adding routes to coastal Alabama via Gulf Shores International Airport (GUF), noting that it fits the mold as a previously unserved vacation destination (many of its customers were previously driving to visit). Now, Allegiant will serve two cities in the state.

Cheap fares available

As part of Tuesday's expansion, the carrier announced promotional fares for several of these new routes, with some starting at base fares as low as $39 one-way. Just keep in mind, you'll likely pay extra if you want to check a bag, pick a seat or bring a full-size carry-on on board. Promo fares must be booked by Aug. 13 for travel by May 19, 2026.
