The airline expects to debut the new cabin in early 2026, which happens to coincide with a planned launch of revamped cabin interior and upgrade to the seatback entertainment.
As per Air Canada, the Airbus Airspace cabin will offer passengers 15% more capacity in the overhead storage bins, as well as a new ceiling design and enhanced lighting.

According to Air Canada’s press release, the new overhead bins will provide “more space for your belongings, quicker boarding, and an even better experience on board.”
As it stands, Air Canada operates a fleet of 34 Canadian-built Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with an additional 31 on order. The aircraft are primarily used for domestic and transborder flights, and feature a business class cabin with a 2-2 configuration and an economy cabin with a 2-3 configuration.

Another Step Towards Air Canada’s Glowing Hearted Cabin Design
While increased overhead bin storage and new/ceiling lighting designs on the Airbus A220-300 are interesting, something else that I’m keeping a keen eye out for is more information about Air Canada’s launch of the Glowing Hearted cabin design.
As reported by Executive Traveller, Air Canada is poised to reveal the new cabin on the Airbus A321XLR aircraft to selected media at the Aircraft Interiors Expo this week, with a public launch in the coming months.
What’s intriguing about these developments is that they’re all part of Air Canada’s launch of the Glowing Hearted cabin design, which will form the airline’s new brand identity going forward.
While no firm dates have been announced, it’s expected that Air Canada will begin taking delivery of the A321XLRs by the end of 2025.
Conclusion
Air Canada is set to become the launch customer for the Airbus Airspace cabin, which features larger overhead storage bins, as well as a new ceiling and lighting. Passengers will enjoy 15% more room in the overhead storage bins.
The airline announced that the new cabins will make their debut in early 2026, which is when Air Canada is also set to launch revamped cabin interiors and seatback entertainment.
It’s exciting to see Air Canada take steps towards revamping its brand with the Glowing Hearted cabin design, and we’re looking forward to learning more in the coming months.
