Three days is enough time to see Prague well, as long as you put the days in the right order. I first visited Prague back in the 2000s and returned to the city in September 2026 with Jess, on her first visit. We spent five nights in the Old Town and walked four full days of the city, using the Prague Visitor Pass for three of those days. This itinerary is what we’d recommend to first-time visitors to Prague. Visit the Old Town and Charles Bridge on day one, the castle district on day two and the Jewish Quarter and the New Town on day three. We’ll also give you ideas on how to adjust this itinerary to two days or how to stretch it to four or five. The main problem Prague presents visitors is the calendar rather than the crowds (although there are plenty of those too). For example, the Jewish Quarter shuts on Saturdays. Popular attractions often sell out and some are reservation only, like the Klementinum library or paternoster tours. The castle buildings close at 5pm in summer and 4pm in winter, and a couple of the smaller museums take Mondays off.
